About the CST programme →On this page
Activity, relationships and communication.
CST is a non-drug intervention: conversations, images, words and themed activities stimulate cognitive abilities and participation. The proposed programme includes 14 sessions of around 60 minutes, led by the psychologist.
Cognitive functions
Language, orientation, executive functions and autobiographical memory.
Participation
The group encourages interaction, storytelling and social skills.
Hearing accessibility
A controlled environment, visual aids and strategies that support understanding.

A programme led by a psychologist.
Ilaria Giallini, PhD. She assesses suitability for the group and leads activities, also considering the needs of people using hearing aids or a cochlear implant.
Who it is for and what to expect
NICE guidelines recommend group CST for people with mild to moderate dementia. It is not a cure for dementia and results vary. Hearing difficulty alone does not establish suitability for the programme.
